Winter Guard Takes 2nd at Union City Regional

The Beyer Winter Guard recently placed 2nd in their division at the WGI Union City Regional, held March 6 at James Logan High School. In the highly competitive Scholastic "A" division with 17 groups competing, Beyer showed off their skills and impressed the judges and audience. The guard also won their round consisting of half the competing groups in Scholastic "A" in the prelims competition Saturday morning. Longtime Blue Crew parent Bruce Tidrick had this to say about the day:

"[My wife] Karen and I had to pleasure to catch the Beyer Winter Guard performance...what a great day it was for our guard. They had a solid preliminary performance, [and] after over 7 hours of downtime between performances they returned with an impressive finals performance firmly holding on to second place and improving their score to 80.4. Great job! I'm glad we were there to see it!"

Congratulations, Winter Guard! This weekend, the Winter Percussion will have their turn at the Union City Percussion Regional, competing against 6 other ensembles in the Scholastic "Open" division.
